Thorn

Postby rissoxx » [OP] » 24 Feb 2012 14:45

So yesterday I was playing thorn and think I came across a glitch. Im not sure but I will tell you guys what I saw and see if I can upload a video of it! I had enough energy for my EX ability that heals myself. (cant remember the name of it). But anyway, I pressed the X button and I lost my 40% energy and then got stunned by ranid, but the swomps didnt came and I didnt got healed. So I mean I lost energy but didnt get anything? Is it supposed to be like this? Well let me know if this is just how it is or might be a glitch?

Every EX that gets interrupted uses up energy beforehand. You have some seconds time to use it again.

6 seconds to be precise. And you are capable of casting another EX ability, not just the one you were planning on using before your cast was interrupted.

Ah ok so the energy is supposed to be used but no EX ability is coming up cus it gets interupted? Then I understand. That can be pretty painfull if you use it right. Cus you will loose a lot of energy and not get anything!

Well, not really, like HunterRose said you have 6 seconds to cast your EX Ability. So in your case you use 40% energy but get interrupted by ranid in the middle of your cast. When the stun wears of you can use your ability again (since you were stunned in the middle of the cast the ability does not get on cooldown).

That is with all champions ex abilities. If you start casting the ex ability and fake cast it, you lose the energy on your bar. The thing is you still have the energy despite it not being on the bar. So you can then press the ex ability again, and use the ex ability with out enough energy on the energy bar. I done it with Nomads boomerang storm many times. I done it with many other ex abilities on many other champs too. If you get interrupted during the cast time it does the same thing as it would do, if you fake cast it. That being you lose the energy visually with out really losing the energy physically. I also have a theory that your energy indeed goes away, but you have seconds to use the ex again after it. I find that an odd mechanic if it was intended to be that way.

There's no magic here, guys! Once you use an EX-ability you will gain the BUFF "EX-something". It lasts for 6 (six) seconds and it also has a visual effect - 2 green swirls around your bloodline.

Usually your ex will cast normally and you will never see the buff. However, if it gets interrupted you will notice it, and you can cast ANY Ex during those 6 seconds. However, you cant use the normal version of an attack if you got the EX-buff.

So, if you wanted to do Javelin(EX-m2) on an SM and you get interrupted and immediatly after wants to avoid a huge incoming nuke using your (regular) space, you'll cast Tempest instead!

This could really *peeeeep* you over, se be careful ;)

Also to add, you see green swirls around your bloodline when you are still able to cast your ex. Once you stop seeing these, your ability to cast your ex (in this case 6 seconds from what ppl are saying) is gone for good.
